589 Class Three - September 8, 2005
(online)

Integration: Purposes and Possibilities

See the bottom of the agenda at week two for descriptions of the three posts to make by noon on September 8; this will allow us all to read each others' before our chat in TappedIn on Thursday, Sept. 8 from 7:30-8:30 p.m.

During class three, in TappedIn’s Chat Forum, we’ll split the discussion time up between the following two points:

  • As a technology leader which of the concepts/frameworks of RAT, mindtools, added value, and technology in How People Learn do you think that you’d be most likely to introduce to teachers in order to have them think critically about how best technology can support teaching and learning.
  • Assuming that NCLB is influencing products available for schools, the expenditures school leaders will be able to make, and schools’ need to gather and report student achievement data, explain why you think the NCLB act will either a) promote or b) retard the agenda for technology supporting assessment that is set forth in “Knowing What Students Know.” Explain why.

Due for next week:

  • ETIPS case #1; the assignment code is Picasso (discuss in class, enter answers online in etips.info)
  • Tool Show & Tell #1 (present in class, 10 minutes)
