- #1. At the start of 2005 the U.S. released a new National Educational Technology Plan . At its website click the tab marked "The Plan" and then click through links in the box at the right side on the page to read over the plan. Also look over the tab marked "Action Steps."
- #2. NETS-S are the National Educational Technology Standards for Students; these were created by the International Society for Technology in Education. They are considered to be teachers' guidelines for achieving "success in learning, communication and life skills."
- #3. Read the Kozma article from JRTE that reviews the major findings about teacher, student, and technology practice, roles, and outcomes in IEA’s Second International study of Technology in Education Module 2 (or SITES M2). This was an international qualitative study of innovative pedagogical practices using ICT (information and communication technologies) that involved 28 countries. ALSO browse at least one case report from SITES M2 by choosing “Advanced Search” (at the top of the page) and then scrolling *all the way down* this page to the heading “Project Clusters.” Then, select any cluster to search for cases in that cluster; do not select a case that was from the U.S. or mentioned in the Kozma article.
- #4. This Exemplary Technology Supported Schooling Case Studies Project investigated innovative pedagogical practices supported by technology in the United States. The research procedures for and data collected by this project were coordinated with the IEA M2 study reviewed in the Kozma article, above, as well as with the OECD project listed below. (If interested, see also Powerpoint Overview) . Go to the school list and select one to two of the five schools that have QuickTime movies that overview that school's data and watch them.
